Arena Farnborough nominated for RICS Awards 2017

One of my year out practice projects with Western Design Architects nominated for RICS Awards 2017. My involvement was the earlier design stages up to the planning application, but also some contribution towards the Health and Safety file in terms of the CDM Risk Assessment.

Arena Business Centres recently announced that Western Design Architects have been shortlisted for the RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) Awards 2017 (South East) for the Abbey House commercial project – Arena Farnborough.

The Awards showcase the most inspirational regional initiatives and developments in land, property, construction and environment completed within the last three years. There are eight categories encompassing different types of design and construction and Abbey House is nominated in the ‘Commercial’ and ‘Regeneration’ categories.

Each category is judged against criterion including design, size, cost and commitment to sustainability. The category winners and the Project of the Year winner will be announced at the Awards ceremony and dinner will be announced on the 17th May at the Ageas Bowl, Southampton. The event will be hosted by Kate Bellingham: TV Presenter, Engineer and Champion for Girls in Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM).

The RICS Awards are regarded as the premier property and construction awards in the country, and the nominations for Western Design Architects are a fantastic accolade for their hard work on our stunning Farnborough centre. Best of luck to Western Design Architects and Abbey House!
